“I live in central Scotland and this is my third time at this hotel. The hotel is on an estate within nice grounds. It blends a traditional Scottish castle look with modern aspects in decoration. Not far from Aberdeen City Centre, but it was a car journey there and back to the hotel. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was bouffe but had a good choice. I used the Spa facility. The changing rooms were rather small, the pool was very busy with swimming lessons at the time I went, and some flakey paintwork all-round which could do with a re-decoration. Having said that the sauna and steam room were large enough to accommodate even busy periods around the pool. Overall good value for money (beware that it's 11.00am checkout, we assumed it was 12.00 noon like other hotels in the area, and it incurred a £10.00 extra charge!!) To end on a positive note, there were residents from Europe, and the USA, which was nice as well. I will probably stay again in future, but will definitely leave before 11.00am in the morning.”

“Room and bed were small (standard double bed size) On second floor and no lift. There was a noise of a fan going all night but it wasn't from my room. Heard phone from next room vibrating, people walking on the floor and the balcony doors getting slammed shut each time they had a cigarette. Very poor lighting in stairs/hallway to room. Saw 1 member of staff when I was there for 4 nights. There was no evening porter - would be interesting to see what would have happened if the fire alarm went off. Car park is only for 4 cars as there is now a beer garden in most of it.”

“Booked in for one night Room was lovely Meal in restaurant was terrible Partner ordered coconut prawns and said they tasted like dirty deep fat fryer and looked straight out of a brake brothers bag. Ordered two fillet steaks a seasonal greens and fries and a couple of sauces. Told by the waitress that the seasonal greens Is just cabbage. She did ask the chef if there was another type of green they could put in and we ended up with green beans and frozen peas but no cabbage. Both steaks were very over cooked and the waitress obviously noticed it and gave us a complimentary desserts which was nice they noticed but a bit of an empty gesture on an expensive item. Overpriced for the quality received and service charge already on the bill”

“The hotel was clean enough and provided all of the services that a hotel needs. However was lacking a bit in some parts. The TV in the room didn’t work, and there was also no bedside sockets for charging etc. Nice bathroom, with very good shower! The staff were very helpful”

“We booked a room for one night so we didn’t have to drive when going out for a meal. Even though I turned up scruffy in my work clothes the staff made us feel special. Sorted us a taxi for when we were ready, sent ice bucket and glasses to the room, opened doors for us. Yes it was not the cheapest room for the night but it does WOW. Treat yourself or someone special I would definitely go back. ”
