“This is the best Hotel in Dumfries full stop. I have been to many places to stay in Dumfries over 35 years and I can honestly say for cleanliness , quality and quantity of the breakfast and particularly the friendliness and helpfulness of the hosts. I think it's Lynne and Terry. During the extremely hot recent weather after Lynne was outside the hotel gardening and when we returned Lynne offered us two glasses of water with Lots of ice a total life saver which we took back to our room and enjoyed. What a star and Terry is extremely helpful and a laugh too. What more could ask for the hosts with the most!! Would highly recommend ”

“Only stayed for one night and we had a large comfortable room overlooking the loch. Breakfast was included which was really good. Shame it rained while we were there as we couldn't take advantage of our private terrace accessed through patio doors from our room.”

“Not suitable for people with any sore joints as the beds are rock hard. If you like food that reminds you of your grannies cooking, give it a try… I prefer modern cuisine myself. ”

“Derek and Anna were perfect hosts, very welcoming, up for a chat, and gave great info about what to do in the area. Our room was beautiful, very clean, and quiet. Plenty of off street parking. Pubs and restaurants are walking distance, there are some lovely restaurants but make sure you book. ”

“Booked Dumfries Villa as I was heading back to catch up for a celebration with friends. I was met by the Proprietor Colin who was very friendly, and explained the house rules to help maximise my stay. The room was a good size with a single and a double bed in. There was a lovely view of a church from the room too. The room had an ensuite which was just about the right size. The breakfast the following morning was nice. Poached eggs on toast were done just right and the porridge was tasty too. Service was quick and friendly too. Will definitely look to book again next time I'm up.”

“Last min deal with a discount. Hadn’t heard of the hotel before. Nice drive from Glasgow, had the afternoon tea which was great value and very tasty. Dined within the restaurant and also had breakfast. Food was faultless. If you get a good deal it’s a no brainer. We will look to go back in better weather to explore the area more. ”
