“A very pleasant studio apartment. Pros: very close to the old town, the ladies at the reception were very helpful. We also had a terrace, and the size and condition of the apartment were perfectly adequate. We really enjoyed our stay. The only negative point worth mentioning is that there was no dishwashing liquid or sponge provided, which we ended up buying ourselves and leaving behind.”

“We stayed for a week at Pestana Miramar on a dinner, bed & breakfast package. There was no option to book just bed & breakfast. Room: decor and facilities are rather aged and need an update. The carpet is smelly and unless the air con is on or door open, the whole room smells unpleasant. Net curtain was torn. On the plus side, the bed is comfortable and large, but pillows are lumpy. Breakfast: good pastries but limited on fresh fruit (only bananas, apples, sometimes pears, kiwi), considering there are many seasonal local fruit available on the island. Dinner: some of the food was good, some not so much in terms of variety and flavour. A bit hit and miss - if it was an option to exclude dinner, we would have done that and gone for local restaurants in the area. The only alternative to the buffet restaurant were a-la-carte restaurants within the Pestana chain, located 30 min walk away, so not ideal. ”
