“We stopped here mid-week to break up a trip to Scotland. The hotel is right on the motorway junction, so really easy to get to. There was a very low background noise from the traffic but nothing that should trouble anyone. The hall is a large country house with clearly a lot of history and although some parts are not as glorious as they once might have been, it's fabulously genuine and has a lot of character. We had a really nice large bedroom very well refurbished with an equally good bathroom that had a large free-standing bath. The water was good and hot too. Both were very clean. There is a small bar downstairs with a log-burner to sit round. Breakfast was continental (no full cooked breakfast option) and OK. Good value for money and we would definitely stay there again.”

“The hotel WiFi is non existent. Was told it was because there were a large wedding reception. Also tried early next morning but still not working. They need to improve the WiFi system!”

“As always, this is a comfortable hotel with lovely staff and spacious rooms. This was our first time in a room that overlooked the car park rather than the lake, which is a very different experience. But even then, with the window left open overnight, we slept well with minimal noise from the service station. We did miss having the balcony though 😀 Comfy, big beds, decent shower AND big bath. Definitely recommended.”
