“We wanted somewhere quiet, peaceful, tranquil, but modern and clean. And that was exactly what we got! The only thing you can hear in the Garden Studio is bird song and bees. No traffic! Excellent. Perfect location and centrally located to walk to all that West Mersea has to offer. Will definitely be returning for more relaxation and a stress free break. Thanks for a great stay.”

“Warm welcome, comfortable bed, powerful shower, good breakfast. The pub is located in a popular village with nice walks in the vale, along the river. Most rooms face onto the street which was busy with traffic & people in the evening & early morning but it was quiet overnight.”

“This is a very comfortable, classy hotel with great attention to detail. The building is possibly Victorian so it has high ceilings and wide corridors with lovely wood work throughout. The decor is elegant and classic understated British. The rooms are really comfortable as are the beds. Breakfast is freshly cooked and waiter service, no buffet. This is my favourite hotel in Colchester.”

“We were greeted by very friendly reception staff that were able to check us in early and offer us the use of the facilities earlier than we thought the room had everything we needed for 1 night stay but room 3 was very tired good quality biscuits and coffee and tea bags bar food ok basic bar drinks a little pricey but over all a lovely stay thank you ”
