“We were travelling from Southampton to West Cumbria and after travelling most of the day the hotel is fairly handy in a quiet location from the motorway. The staff were very hospitable & made us feel at home. Our room was on the 1st floor accessed by a flight, of steep stairs, looking out the back of the building. The towels & bed linen were of good quality, but the room could be a little cleaner & the shower room window blind needs replacing- very tried. Although there are no open views we enjoyed a walk along the canal which was accessible via the beer garden ”

“Our stay was very enjoyable. The bedroom was warm, comfortable & we'll equipped. We were a little disappointed at check-in, as the whole hotel smelt of cooking. The kitchen was open to reception which seemed to be the cause. However by the evening the air had cleared. I also think that the hotel should negotiate some parking spaces at the station car park, rather than leave guest to sort this out for themselves. ”
