Frequently visited the Royal Hotel for food and drinks, the beer garden is amazing. First time actually staying at the hotel and just for one night. Maybe slightly dated rooms but very comfortable, tea, coffee, hairdryer etc. lovely and warm, comfy beds, we would absolutely stay again.

Just one night to give feedback. Food at the hotel was very good indeed. I can definitely recommend the restaurant and the beer garden as it vacks onto the canal. Could de better on the WiFi as it was a pain having to sign up to Sky. Didn't bother in the end. We where woken up at 5.00am by barking dogs from the room next to us. We will probably look for an alternative hotel on our next stay ad this is not acceptable

Stayed overnight business trip
I stayed in a double room in the front of the property room 7. Clean and comfortable room. Tea and coffee making facilities. Overall a good experience. Had a meal in the restaurant. Good value and tasty. Definitely stay there again.

bar shut at 10pm. Bedroom stifling and 'fan' was on its last legs. Door to breakfast locked until 9am so no way of getting a breakfast for an early start. We left early via fire escape and had a breakfast elsewhere. I was told you don't get cereals etc and have to pay extra for toast and tea. So much for a breakfast 'deal'. Why wasn't I told of this beforehand?

Room was clean but soulless. Only 1 tea bag which felt rather mean . No WiFi code in room and was already undressed for bed so didn't want to get dressed to go and ask.
