“Stayed for one night on our way to Kruger National Park. The entrance is just outside of Numbi Gate and camp with a fence overlooking a small dam in Kruger where we saw hippos. Lovely setting, clean luxury tents with two single beds, shower, basin and toilet, air conditioner, kettle and very small bar fridge. Tents are very clean and comfortable with crisp white linen. It is just a long walk from central parking at reception to carry luggage to tents - but staff do assist. Train passing by on railway line closeby is heard a few times a day. Otherwise quiet and peaceful. Lovely swimming pool and green lawns.”

On our last day, Rob introduced us to the marula trees on the property and shared the magic of Amarula, which we instantly fell in love with. Even when our car ran into issues, Rob went above and beyond, making calls and troubleshooting to ensure we were taken care of. Every detail of our stay was marked by genuine kindness, care, and thoughtfulness. Ashbourne Country Escape gave us the most perfect honeymoon experience, and we can’t wait for the day we return to create even more memories!”

Susann was an incredible host — warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making guests feel at home. From the moment I arrived, her hospitality stood out. The property itself is immersed in nature, with expansive views over the rolling hills and surrounding fruit farms that create such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Waking up to the scenery each morning was a highlight on its own. The lodge is beautifully maintained, tranquil, and perfectly positioned if you’re looking for a quiet escape while still being conveniently located. One of the standout features for me was the swing overlooking the valley. Sitting there, surrounded by endless views and complete stillness, the noise and rush of everyday life seem to quietly disappear. There’s something grounding about simply sitting in silence and letting nature slow your thoughts down. In a world that constantly demands movement, it’s a rare reminder that peace is often found in stillness. Guests should absolutely take the time to sit there and let nature do the rest. My room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, and the breakfasts each morning were excellent. It’s easy to see why so many guests speak so highly of this place, the combination of the stunning setting, thoughtful touches, and Susann’s hospitality makes it feel special. I left feeling refreshed and would happily stay again. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Nelspruit / White River area. ”

“It was a short stay but we had so much fun. The chalet was beautiful and clean. Liked it had a barbecue/ braai area. Loved the 3 swimming pools and kiddies pool. The convenience store also sold ice cream and the kids bought it everyday. Very near to the Kruger National Park and 2 shopping malls. Liked the night security patrols, the resort is very safe.”

“The room is clean and most staffs are helpful. The restaurante is not that good. The only item on the menu that I wanted was T-bone steak, but they did not have it. So they suggested to substitute it with pork chop, which is cheaper. The restuarente does not accept payment. But the receptionist charged the pork chop as T-bone steak, claiming that they don't have pork chop in the system, so they put T-bone steak in and there for I have to pay the T-bone steak price. What a ridiculous reasoning!”
