“Rooms were spotless with large shared kitchenet and living room. Large shared bathroom and shower for the 6 rooms available in the property. Location is fantastic with bars and restaurants nearby. View from Room 3 was beautiful.”

“It suited our needs perfectly. The staff were extremely helpful, especially by storing our luggage after check-out while we went to do a race in the Douro Valley, and later allowing us to shower afterwards, which we really appreciated. We also enjoyed the pool and the balcony in our room. ”

“Although a little complicated to access being in a residential building, using emailed codes and the worlds smallest lift, a warm and welcoming reception. The room was pleasant, warm and had all the things you need, apart from tea and coffee making. The room could be noisy with some sort of construction happening and loud music, but probably just part of life in a residential building. Reception staff went above and beyond to welcome us and communicate with us as our Portuguese is very limited. The staff made excellent efforts to speak and understand English. They even gave us a tray with tea and coffee making, flasks of hot water and a plate of biscuits. A little more attention to hard to clean areas, like under the bed, along the skirting would be good. Also a few dangerous electrical faults such as two spots with electrical wires, that could be live, such as the hair dryer needs immediate attention with plastering. The water damage in the bathroom will worsen, although I don’t know the solution, but cutting the bottom of the bathroom door off is a bit unsightly ( maybe Perspex over the door, and along the joints??). The free parking at the rear was also a bonus as that can be a worry.A stay made memorable by the wonderful breakfast room and friendly helpful staff. We would definitely come back. 2 Aussies in their 50s.”

“Parking privé Carlos très accessible et arrangeant Adresse de petite cantine pr le repas Le moins: bruit de la route et emplacement, voiture nécessaire pour chaque déplacement Mais très bon rapport qualité prix”

“The pool was fantastic after a long hot October day of bike riding. The breakfast was superb with fresh scrambled eggs and other goodies. The staff was friendly. There was a locked gate to keep our bikes safe. I would stay here again. ”

“We stayed 2 nights at Original Duoro Hotel. It was a fantastic stay. The hotel and our room were beautifully renovated. The historical part of the hotel was artfully restored and integrated into the modern hotel. We had a great time admiring the many details of this historically building, it's like visiting a secret museum. Breakfast was also very nice, all the items were very tasty. We highly recommend this lovely hotel. ”
