“The best cabin by the lake experience we have ever had - or perhaps, in this case, cabin by the fjord. Pal is a great host. His cabin is tastefully furnished with modern luxuries. Everything inside it is clean and uncluttered. And the view across the water is priceless! Grab it if it is available during your trip to Kristiansund - you won’t regret it!”

“The hotel is not new but the rooms are freshly renovated to catch up with the times. The bathroom is a bit small but very serviceable in the area.”

“We didn’t get prior check in instructions. There was no staff to help us. There was a phone number on the door to call. I sent an email while waiting by the front door and within a few minutes I got an email back with instructions. So altogether I am happy with my experience staying at Andalsnes guesthouse. The place is very quiet and clean. I recommend. ”

“We booked this hotel and arrived and did the auto-check in. There was no option to get more than a single key card, despite us being a group of 4. The room had 2 towels. We contacted the hotel by email (there is no staff onsite) and they said additional towels could be found in a closet near our room. There were none. I let them know and they arranged for us to check into another vacant room temporarily to take that room’s towels. When I did so I confirmed that only a single key card is offered. The room was very warm and there was no way to control the temperature (turning off the heat). We emailed the hotel again but never heard back. We slept with the window open, which meant mosquitos and other insects could fly in, and the hotel wasted energy heating a room that we wanted cool. None of us slept well and we were happy to leave. I’ve stayed at automated and unstaffed hotels in the past and they worked well. This one didn’t. ”
