“Located on the main road, about a mile from the ferry jetty. No direct lake access, which some people might want, but didn't bother us. We received a warm and friendly welcome, the room boy was smiley and attentive. The owner was very helpful too. Our room was spacious, modern and very clean. Good quality bedding and big fluffy bath towels provided. Lots of small shops and stalls close by selling essentials. Local buses pass the door, plenty of tuk tuks available too, but be prepared to bargain hard!”

“The resort is located by the Vembanad lake - one of the best slots in the city. The parking is seperated by a stream mandating you to be ferried to the resort on a boat. As you set foot off the boat, you are welcomed by the wonderful sight of the lake. The infinity pool was the highlight of our stay here. Rooms are average and flies/ mosquitos outside a bit of a nuisance preventing guests from spending more time out in the open. Delicious local food and hospitality however makes up for it! All in all, a good spot for a couple of days' stay.”

“A stay at Coconut Lagoon felt nothing short of magical ✨ The location is breathtaking, surrounded by serene backwaters and lush greenery, but what truly made it special was the warmth of the staff—they make you feel at home from the very first moment. One of my favorite experiences was having tea from chai chechi's floating tea shop☕️—such a simple yet unforgettable moment. And the sunset cruise… just wow 🌅 Watching the sky melt into colors while staff uncle played the flute so beautifully made the entire evening feel surreal. What I loved most is how thoughtfully they treat you—not just during arrival with their warm welcome, but even when you leave. The staff gathers near the exit to bid you goodbye, making your departure just as special as your arrival. Coconut Lagoon isn’t just a stay, it’s an experience that stays with you 🧡”

“Stunning location, great property Their breakfast spreads are delicious, but very limited”

“We were looking for a serene location and good customer service at a reasonable rate in Kumarakom. Backwater Breeze was just the right place. Lake view property with decent rooms. Customer service was really good. The service mindset was reflecting in the behaviour of the staff. Very much infant friendly. They allowed us their kitchen to prepare food for our baby and even served a boiled egg for him without being asked. They lent us their own umbrella during rain. Arranged for our customized boating with pick and drop right in front of the property. Let us park our car even after check out. Genuinely customer friendly. Ideal location with access points to town and boating with restaurants nearby. Overall it was a well spent holiday with our baby feeling so comfortable. ”

“This hotel really needs an uplift. They’re still living in their past glory. If they want to stay relevant, they need to seriously upgrade themselves. Our room had a few issues: there was water ponding in the outdoor shower - we had to shower while standing in dirty water throughout our baths; there seemed to be some kind of leaking near the toilet (unsure of the source) which resulted in the floor being perpetually wet and slippery (read: fall hazard) and we noticed black particles that appeared on the sheets after a night’s sleep which we found were under the sheets at the foot of the bed (not sure what it was). Buffet breakfast was really disappointing. Bread and fruits were left out in the open, with flies swarming about. The dosa batter was so sour, it wasn’t edible. Overall, the food was nothing to shout about. The dance performance in the evening was lacklustre. We booked this hotel due to their name, but were left very disappointed. Not worth the price tag. The only positive: the staff were eager to please which is barely enough to sustain the Taj name. ”
