“We stayed on a Sunday night and found the location and grounds to be lovely. The staff at the reception were friendly and welcoming. Initially, we considered dining at the hotel; however, we were deterred by the prices and the quality of the menu we encountered. Instead, we chose to eat out in the village, which was just two miles away, and the meal was excellent. Our room was standard but very nice and comfortable. However, we felt that more could have been done to brighten up and tidy both the interior and exterior of the hotel. After our meal outside the hotel, we had a drink in the bar, but the prices were excessive—£17 for a Baileys and a cider! In the morning, we enjoyed an excellent breakfast, which was a highlight of our stay. We then decided to use the spa, only to find out that there was an additional charge of £10 each. The gym equipment was quite poor and barely functional, with weights that seemed to be from the 1940s. I didn’t spend much time in the gym and headed to the pool, which was quite loud due to the number of children present. In my opinion, it didn't provide the tranquil atmosphere expected from a spa. The pool and its surrounding area appeared old and in need of refreshing, and the floor was slippery, which was concerning. I was genuinely disappointed, especially since we had to pay for the spa access. Despite overlooking many issues due to the beautiful surroundings, I would consider staying there again; however, I wouldn’t use the spa, purchase excessive drinks, or dine at the hotel.”

“Lots of stairs to our room so wouldn’t be suitable for some guests. Staff very helpful and carried our luggage. Any requests were promptly dealt with. Excellent cooked breakfast. We were visiting friends so didn’t have any meals. Seemed a very popular place as quite busy during our stay. Would certainly stay again.”

“Beautiful rural location next to Charlecote Park. Hotel also occupies pleasant grounds. Hotel staff were pleasant, helpful and efficient. Breakfast and dinner were OK. Hotel is 'dog-friendly' which didn't suit my wife and me. Don't like dogs in the restaurant or having to avoid dog excrement in the hotel grounds. Despite being given 'Guest of the Day' VIP treatment and a room 'upgrade,' the room was a very ordinary hotel room but badly decorated in shades of drab grey. A tired room . No colour, no pictures on wall (however a quote from Will S which was more graffiti than inspiring), no phone to call reception, stains on carpet. This was our third visit but we will not be coming back.”
