“Have stayed here many time now, returning every year. Good and drink great. Lovely rooms. A real slice of Dorset”

“Wonderful location, wonderful staff and friendly welcome. Great breakfast - just tell the chef to add seasoning for dinner! That was the only negative from a brilliant stay! ”

“I had a wonderful experience staying at The Bear, that I decided to extend my stay for another night! The staff were friendly and efficient, my room was lovely and the breakfast offered was scrumptious. I’ll definitely look to stay here again whenever I need to come back to Wareham! ”

“Reception was so welcoming. Great little hotel in a beautiful location. Room superb and just the job for a peaceful night getaway. ”

“Went with 2 adults and one 12 year old. All loved it. Appearance was great; very inviting. Location was brilliant - about 5 mins walk to the sea. Parking was easy with heavily discounted access to large public car park opposite. Almost all staff were very good; odd one lacked the warmth and enthusiasm of the others. Beds comfortable, rooms tastefullly decorated, views very nice. Some noise from the room above (furniture scraping) and next door (shower). Single downside was food/food prices: just under £80 for one main course each, one beer and one soft drink. The food itself was OK, nothing exciting. ”

“Exactly the place for a group of walkers to rest their head after a long day on the coastal path. Particularly praise for the staff who were charming, friendly and very helpful - both were great and added to the charm. Would recommend and will probably be back!”

“Great pub great location and easy walking distance to corfe castle AnD train station. Food is amazing ”

“This is an old house with moderate upkeep, so as long as you arrive with managed expectations you’ll enjoy your stay. It’s clean and most things work as they should. The owner will happily take care of anything that goes wrong immediately. It’s not a hotel, it’s a large old family house. Paint is peeling in places and the bathrooms are basic. The pool is a bit cloudy. But the owner’s welcome, combined with the locations and wonderful views more than make up for any deficiencies. Breakfast was good too! If you’re looking for modern comforts and sterile clean facilities, this might not be the place for you. If you arrive expecting an old creaky house that’s quite tired in many places, but is right next to the beach and has stunning views, you won’t be disappointed. ”
