This is an old house with moderate upkeep, so as long as you arrive with managed expectations you’ll enjoy your stay. It’s clean and most things work as they should. The owner will happily take care of anything that goes wrong immediately. It’s not a hotel, it’s a large old family house. Paint is peeling in places and the bathrooms are basic. The pool is a bit cloudy. But the owner’s welcome, combined with the locations and wonderful views more than make up for any deficiencies. Breakfast was good too! If you’re looking for modern comforts and sterile clean facilities, this might not be the place for you. If you arrive expecting an old creaky house that’s quite tired in many places, but is right next to the beach and has stunning views, you won’t be disappointed.

After a long and tough day's walk, Bishop's Cottage was the perfect rest stop. I think you'd struggle to find a more picturesque position over Lulworth Cove, the facilities available were excellent, and the welcome warm and friendly. The fact that we had sensational weather to be able to enjoy the pool was the icing on the cake. We would definitely return.

Great location and even better owners and staff who truely care about you enjoying your stay. We enjoyed sitting by the fire at night and using the games room, which included darts, board games and a bar.

Great location, great pool. Friendly staff but needs some serious maintenance on the place. The rooms were beyond basic and not able to stand in the bath for a shower. Everything is just falling apart and needs attention
