“Hotel is housed in a previous Convent, nice architecture and environment . We stayed in the Courtyard room which was nice and comfortable. Staff were helpful. Dinner menu was nice however the breakfast could be enhanced. Overall a good 5 night stay ”

“I have given the County Arms 4 stars as I was impressed by the lovely comfortable bed and spacious room. Plenty of tea, coffee and milk. Really clean and tidy, the hotel was nicely decorated with a nice friendly atmosphere. The cooked breakfast was certainly worth getting up for. Our dog was spoilt with a doggy hamper and towel upon arrival which was lovely for her. The staff were attentive and pleasant. I would recommend and would certainly stay again. 👌”

“Typical older style guest house opp football field. Stairs of course. Good bathroom, clean, comfy soft bed and bedding. Warm room. Outlook over carpark and supermarket across the road. A bit of a walk up hill from bus station. About 700m up hill from train station. Ok to walk into town from room without luggage. Nice friendly and kind staff. Good reasonable price overnight stay.”

“The location of the hotel is excellent, 150yd from the cathedral. All the staff were very helpful, polite and really faultless. Negatives : a bit dated in terms of decoration. I had booked two rooms which were allocated on second floor. There is no air conditioning and the rooms are therefore supplied with electric fans. These were far from adequate. It was also quite expensive to add extra choices to upgrade from continental breakfast which is included in the booking) eg one bowl of porridge £4.00 and the most shocking to me was the charge of one bottle of drinking water £4.75. ”
