“A very good bar atmosphere and popular with the locals. Pleasant staff. Staying there was more of an inhospitable experience. Bedrooms are up a staircase so be aware of this people with hip or knee issues. Room was light and very clean with twin beds, however, I slept on one where the mattress was covered with a piece of old foam and a folded piece of material was used to make the mattress level. Not a good night and uncomfortable pillows. Shower was good and plenty of tea making facilities. Breakfast is extra and this was only just passable. Eggs florentine where the eggs were set and the English breakfast had a hard grilled tomato, fried crusts of brown bread and barely edible tiny mushrooms. Help yourself to tea at the counter in teacups and coffee is powdered sachets. Not a word of enquiry about how the stay was or whether the breakfast was all right. Very disappointed as wished to recommend to family and friends somewhere to stay. ”
