“The accommodation was all we could expect. Our room was cosy and very comfortable with a kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits. The breakfast choice is comprehensive from fruit juice, cereals, yoghurt and berry fruits through to all combinations of the full English. Nigel and Miriam are excellent hosts.”

“From the moment we arrived my wife, our dog and myself were made to feel welcome. Booking had been a breeze and the sat nav had taken us straight to the door, it was drizzly as expected but the welcome was warm and inviting. I am going to list a few negatives below, but do not let that detract from what was a perfect little getaway. negatives? the decor is traditional but in places, especially the bedroom obviously rushed, the whole hot tap turned as it was not fitted correctly, but hold the tap still and it worked just fine; the shower head holder was broken but fidle a bit and it kinda stayed where you wanted it; the hot and cold pipes were swapped on the shower feed so turn it to cold to make it hotter and the paint work, well, a single coat of cream/yellow wasn't enough to cover the white beneath. The plush new carpets made opening the bedroom door a struggle but that was easily forgiven after burying your toes in it's pile... almost decidant. last one, we spent 3 nights, but despite hanging the "please service my room" tag on the door it was never done, so towels didn't get changed and we were close to running out of toilet paper. And before anyone says "did you tell them", no, we did not, not a single one of the above affected our stay, the food in the restraunt was amazing, breakfast and evening meal, the price of the whole stay was below what we would have been prepared to pay, and perhaps that reflects the few issues mentioned above, and the hospitality of the staff made the whole stay perfect. A brief visit from a handyman would fix most of the issues and a quicknroom clean/towels would have been appreciated, and would have elevated to review to 5 stars, but if you like hiking steep hills put this firmly on your map. Thank you for making it a wonderful break.”

“Great location and rooms reasonably well appointed and clean throughout. Our room was small and not easy to move about with the bed preventing the door opening fully. Breakfast good but not spectacular. Bad points: Woken by the cleaner letting herself in early whilst we were still asleep and then staff chasing after us into the car park on leaving saying we hadn't paid. Had to go back in and show the payment taken from my bank by Agoda who we booked with. Would I stay again? Yes but only if it was cheaper than the *** we paid. Mistakes like the cleaner letting herself in and the payment issue I can live with. We all make mistakes occasionally.”
