“We booked in for two nights. The hotel is very nice and quite quirky. The only problem is the inexperienced staff let the place down. On arriving we decided to have a drink as we were too early to check in. The queue was nearly out of the door and there was no urgency about the staff to try to get it cleared. On the evening meal they got my order wrong, then realised they weren't even at the correct table. On the second morning we came down for breakfast at 8.40. Our breakfast order was not taken until 9.15. By 10.00 our breakfast still hadn't arrived and the owner (I think) came out of the kitchen to berates us for complaining as his chef hadn't turned in and he had to cover at the last minute. That in itself would be fair enough but there were tables of people who arrived after us (some had come in off the street) and they had their breakfast order taken and were served their meals while we still waited. We ended up not getting our breakfast as we had to check out at 10am. On a brighter note, the buskers who came in on the Thursday evening were brilliant.”
