“Hotel is lovely, backing on to a nature reserve. Beautiful views of the garden from the dining hall and bar area. Bedrooms were smallish but perfectly adequate. Menu was fine with generous portions and reasonable pricing. The problem is with some of the staff, mostly the younger ones. Booked a double room and was given a twin. When pointed out to receptionist we were reassigned another twin bed room. Third time lucky and we were given a double bedroom. Also reception were not aware that we had pre-paid through Agoda. In the bar, ordered an evening meal that was vegetarian pie and fish and chips. Bar staff wanted to charge me more than the menu price. When challenged she just replied I only work part time. Fortunately a more senior member of staff corrected the pricing. Then when the food came it was chicken pie! We are vegetarian. The serving staff apologised and said it was not the first time it had happened. Some extra staff training is needed. A shame as this could be a really nice hotel experience.”

“The room was fine but I left the clean my room out twice and on both occasions the room was cleaned bin was full of rubbish no clean towels, had to request toilet rolls and towels and drink making facilities, food was reasonable but portion size was minimal and bar staff always trying to upsell more items. ”

“Stayed here for a wedding, receptionist staff were exceptional, room was good, although a little dated (bathroom radiator rusted and shower screen had areas of mould build up from stagnant water). We stayed in a family room, bed was standard and came with coffee and tea making facilities. Ordered 2 soft drinks in the morning at the bar, staff were lovely. The only peeve of the trip was that I ordered two cokes and the bar lady served 2 small bottles costing £5.50 and then once I had poured them informed me that there was Pepsi on tap as an option, which was marginally cheaper. Overall an ok stay, same standard somewhat to premier inn so you know what your getting. We did not experience any of the amenities such as the gym or swimming pool but I’m sure they are fine ”

“The outside is so beautiful and the location really worked for our needs. The room was nice and clean however the bathroom needs an upgrade. Staff were friendly and helpful. ”
