Hotel is lovely, backing on to a nature reserve. Beautiful views of the garden from the dining hall and bar area. Bedrooms were smallish but perfectly adequate. Menu was fine with generous portions and reasonable pricing. The problem is with some of the staff, mostly the younger ones. Booked a double room and was given a twin. When pointed out to receptionist we were reassigned another twin bed room. Third time lucky and we were given a double bedroom. Also reception were not aware that we had pre-paid through Agoda. In the bar, ordered an evening meal that was vegetarian pie and fish and chips. Bar staff wanted to charge me more than the menu price. When challenged she just replied I only work part time. Fortunately a more senior member of staff corrected the pricing. Then when the food came it was chicken pie! We are vegetarian. The serving staff apologised and said it was not the first time it had happened. Some extra staff training is needed. A shame as this could be a really nice hotel experience.

We stayed in a superior double room, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is quieter than expected as when I first arrived I realised it was closer to the main road then I thought. The hotel is located a short drive off the main road so my sleep was not disturbed and I am a light sleeper. There is no fridge in the hotel room which I think would be ideal for people staying more than one night. We also could not use the hot tub as there was no spa staff available so we missed out on being able to use the facilities. When we first arrived there was a wait for the lounge bar and reception area so it did appear that the hotel was not fully staffed. We also called the reception one morning multiple times and there was no answer so we ended up going downstairs. The grounds of the hotel are well maintained and it was clear that it was well taken care of. There was a nice walk just out the back of the hotel around the grounds. We also extended our stay by one night but the hotel did not price match on other hotel booking sites, this is something to be aware of as by booking through a partner site we saved over £30 yet the hotel refused to price match this. I would recommend this hotel and stay, the staff did speak too were very helpful.

Only gripe would be that we had to pay for parking Room and bathroom was clean Beds are comfy
