“We had an absolutely stunning time staying here. It was perfect for our needs (as a couple on a hiking holiday around Brecon) with the location, facilities, breakfast, and everything else. I just want to say a huge thank you to Moyra especially! She was just so lovely and welcoming, and she made everything so easy and pleasant for us - starting with kindly allowing us to check-in late due to our long travel, and then everything else during our stay. I can't recommend her guest house enough to those looking for a real, authentic, down-to-earth Welsh stay during your time in the Brecon region. All the others both working as staff and neighbours helping our were just so friendly and wonderful too, so we couldn't have asked for anything more in these regards! An exceptional find!”

“We have been here many times & this time we’re disappointed at how shabby it looked. Our room had only one tap working in the bathroom & no shower curtain. Bed was uncomfortable & you could feel the springs. The room was located on ground floor at the very end & we could hear the wheelie bins being moved quite early in the mornings outside our window. The pool & jacuzzi looked tired & there were a lot of broken tiles that I caught my foot on - also the tiles around the pool were very slippery & dangerous. Changing rooms & showers were dirty & infact, the water from the lady showering next to me was running into mine. Massage was amazing & so were the breakfasts but very dissapointed with the evening meal which was very overpriced & came away still feeling hungry. I’m sure if the Nant Ddu was given a make over with both the pool & bedrooms, it would make a big difference. We will certainly go back because of its location, but hopefully they will take these comments onboard & sort out the negatives.”

“Our Stay at James' Place was better than anticipated. The whole studio was exceptionally clean and the Welsh cakes the host left for us were delicious. The view from the window was beautiful with the mountains in the distance. I would highly recommend James' Place to travellers. Our studio had a kitchen and en suite bathroom.”

“Just got back to Milton Keynes after 4 nights at the Castle hotel and visiting family in near by Tredegar .The room was fantastic and huge was very clean-pleasant staff-great hotel will def stay again when visiting would highly recommend ”
