“This hotel is not as expected as it's a bit impersonal - more like a busy Spanish hotel. The swimming pool is disappointing as ,not free and too busy with scheduled time. But the staff is very nice and do their best to accommodate you. The rooms are nice and the view too. The surrounding and Folkstone is very pleasant. The meal room looks good. The hotel is a bit old fashion particularly the corridors but the rooms are nice. I would go back though it was not what I expected. I had expected somewhere a bit more luxurious. But it was good enough once the initial shock when arriving as a bit more old fashion as expected. But I quite like that style. Thank to the staff for their friendliness and kindness and hard work. ”

“There was some lovely touches and the room was good with a lovely sea view. The breakfast was nice. The only thing that spoilt it was the mattress. Just too thin and could feel the springs. If we had a comfortable bed we would certainly recommend ”

“Stayed one night. Loud music playing until 12.30. Loads of banging around from the people upstairs and loud noises and talking until 3.30am. Didn't sleep well at all. Bathroom needs a lot of work. Toilet not secured to floor and shower very mouldy ”

“The Southcliff Hotel is renovating so expect some noise from the work going on. The room itself was clean and very good for the price. Make sure to get a seaside room because the view wil be brilliant. The location is excellent if you like to be near the coast. The beach is a short walk away and on the other side of the street is the promenade for a lovely stroll”

“Clean hotel in a great location. First the pluses. Friendly receptionist. Parking right outside the hotel payable at check in £8 from 3pm till noon next day. Freshly renovated room with a great hot water shower on the top floor. Nice view over the sea. Please be careful when booking a room for one person as the bed is microscopic for a kid not adults. That’s the minus. Ear plugs, don’t forget as the noise from the corridor is loudly noticeable. ”
