“Our room was lovely, but needed a few bits touching-up (carpet needed vacuuming better and the paintwork was peeling and chipped). Could have done with aircon in our room, as it was rather warm. WiFi signal was very weak in our bit of the building. Dinner was excellent and the staff looked after us well. ”

“Great for a one night stay if you’re walking the Ridgeway. Beautiful pub in lovely surroundings - rooms were big (on 2 floors) and nice to chill in. Pub beer great, pub food good. A bit of attention to detail like putting the Wi-Fi code in the room and a few more decent coffee pods would be nice. Would stay again.”

“This was our second visit to Mollie’s Motel in Oxford, having first stayed in September 2025. We were so impressed the first time that we were really looking forward to returning—the location is excellent, the rooms are comfortable, and the diner has a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, our second experience didn’t quite live up to our initial visit. In the diner, the glasses we were given were visibly dirty, and the water bottle contained bits of food floating in the water, showing this had not been cleaned correctly. which was disappointing. Our order was also incorrect—we received a beer instead of a peach tea. That said, we raised these issues with a member of staff, and the waitress who assisted us was very apologetic and resolved everything promptly, which we appreciated. The food itself was enjoyable, but the issues with cleanliness did make us feel slightly uneasy during the meal. Overall, despite this experience, it’s still a lovely place to stay, and we hope this was just a one-off issue. However, we would emphasise that improvements in cleanliness and food hygiene standards in the diner are essential, otherwise it would put us off returning in the future.”

“What a kind and thoughtful welcome I received on the front desk after a long journey. I was taken to my room and shown everything I needed to know. My sleep was wonderful, i was only sorry we were out at a partty and didn't get to taste the incredible menu however... breakfast was a dream.. you just have to try the Dosa in the morning with a coffee. YUMMY!”
