“Friendly, welcoming and flexible. Better breakfast than I've been given in many hotels, including a great fresh fruit salad.”

“Our experience at the Charlestown Hotel was well below expectations. The service was unresponsive and unhelpful — “no” seemed to be the only word the staff knew. Most of the time, there was no one at the front desk, and with no phone in the room, even basic communication was a challenge. Repeatedly ringing the bell at reception often went unanswered. The facilities were equally lacking: no shampoo, conditioner, or shower gel (only generic handwash), no iron or ironing board, and no air conditioning. The room was uncomfortably hot, and when we asked for a fan, the answer was — unsurprisingly — no. The reception area is tiny, and with no proper access path, you’ll end up dragging your luggage over pebbles and through their restaurant. Overall, an overhyped hotel that fails to deliver on even basic comfort or hospitality. Not recommended, especially if you’re on vacation. ”

“Clean, comfy, welcoming 👍”

“Extremely peaceful clean respite from big city in Edinburgh. 30 minute drive to city center”

“Garvock House Hotel was a lovely stay away from the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh. Tucked away on a side street in Dunfermline it was a great base for Culross Palace, Midhope Castle and Hopetoun House. It was nice to be able to retreat to the bar before and after dinner. The staff was welcoming, pleasant and very accomodating. ”

“It is what it is .. efficient. Clean , but never set the world on fire ”

“The room was fresh , clean and a decent size . Staff were really friendly and professional . The only problem was there was no shower curtain or hooks. They were waiting for new ones to arrive !! All the rooms were booked so we couldn’t be moved. They gave us extra bath mats . The new shower curtains arrived when we were checking out . The breakfast was ok but could do with a bit more variety of cereals . The room was very warm and in a great location for us to visit Family .”

“Adequate breakfast Good facilities and decent gym Location is good and near Edinburgh. But mind you there are quite a bit of stairs that need to be glimtes to reach the train station. ”
