“Me and my wife stayed one night after we had done 3 nights in an independent hotel in the peak district. We quickly realised when we got to this hotel that the quality and running of a chain of hotels is so much better than some independent hotels. We had this staycation when the heatwave was still ongoing, with high 20's and low 30's degree C. As soon as we walked into our room the air conditioning hit us, what a lovely feeling to have a cool room and yes we had a full nights sleep, the first in 3 nights as the previous hotel had no air conditioning. The breakfast was also first class, tea, coffee, cereals and hot food, very nice indeed and all self service. I would definitely recommend the Holiday Inn Express chain. My only complaint would be the car park charge, at £7, discounted from £14 for 24 hours, I thought was a bit steep.”

“Booked a 13 night stay with this hotel. Convenient location, good breakfast and relatively helpful staffs. Not so good: hotel has been undergoing refurbishment for months and it does not seem to be ending anytime soon. All air conditioning was not working, multiple fake fire alarms and sloppy housekeeping service. Corridors were very noisy as well. So I don’t think it’s worth the price I paid for it. Maybe one can try booking when they are finally done with the refurbishment. ”
