“We stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was extremely friendly, and the room was comfortable with all the amenities one would generally need. The location was perfect for walking around and exploring the town.”

“Cosy quirky spacious room above the bar .When it was occupied we could hear some noise which didn’t bother us but imagine it could be noisier at busy times . Staff were friendly. We had the continental breakfast included which was ok for us there are payable options . Overall would stay again . ”

“Appreciate that the hotel is old but with it being warm, windows needed to be open - only one would stay open. Fans provided were very noisy and inadequate. With the heat and so much road noise meant that we really sleep at all. Breakfast was lovely however foreign guests received preferential treatment (extra drinks/multiple courses). Overall very disappointing. ”

“If you want to stay in an old building in Burford, this is perfect. Although it is ancient, with uneven floors, the room has a wonderful bed and a modern bathroom. The staff were very friendly, and we had a very good dinner as well. There is some noise from the street during the day, so you might want to request a room at the back. ”

“If you're staying in Burford I doubt you could find a better hotel - equal perhaps, but doubt you could better it. The bar area is stone flagged and tasteful - I bet it's cosy in the winter with the fires on. The room was well proportioned, lovely bathroom. Restaurant was also nice. I thought the breakfast and evening menus were a little limited, but it was good quality and others may disagree with me. The major issue I have with the hotel though is that 3 weeks into some really hot weather, they really should have done better than a simple fan in the bedrooms. The restaurant was stifling in the evening, really unbearable. The room also got very stuffy. It's a very old inn, with thick stone walls, so of course you wouldn't expect aircon, but they should have invested in a decent portable unit for the restaurant. The staff were no doubt struggling too, so kept retreating to the kitchen where I think there must have been aircon. Bar staff very pleasant. Wifi great. Plenty of outside tables at the back of the property. Very pretty inn.”
