“The room was basic, but very clean. Good breakfast and location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. One small complaint was that the room wasn't as warm as we would have liked ( it was February and bitterly cold ).”

“The hotel is wonderful and charming! Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are modern and smells good. Do note that the pub on the ground floor is popular and there will be music till about 11pm. Breakfast is good as well and made to order.”

“Ideal for our short stay with kichen basics so able to heat up meals. Everything is very clean and comfortable. Located virtually opposite tourist info centre which serves local coffee, cakes and light lunch. But then it's only a few minutes walk and you're in thetown centre.”

“Stayed for two nights, the room was a good size but a couple of things let it down; quite a few marks on the walls and plaster had come away from the ceiling in a couple of places, also the toilet was not attached securely enough to the floor, it wobbled a lot. Most unusual and disappointing was that on the second day after being out all day, when we returned the room was how we left it, which meant the bin was full, the bed unmade, no replacement water or milk, etc. There had been no housekeeping done? Upon querying this the staff member asked if we had requested it? Very odd as it states on their website that it's done daily, also, I've never stayed anywhere that it's not automatically done each day. The breakfast was hot and well cooked, and all the staff were very pleasant, but there never seemed to be anyone that you would clearly identify as in charge to raise any issues with. Had one evening meal and the place was packed with people eating which Ed looked a good sign, unfortunately my wife and I had the same meal so can only comment on that, it was style over substance. Strange mash with the consistency of playdough and quite tough venison, all served like warm. The two young girls were very pleasant and smiley, so made up for the less than great food. As the choice of Hotels or Inns is limited in this area I would recommend staying here, just don't have what I had to eat and make sure you mention housekeeping first thing in the morning if staying more than one night. ”
