“Excellent value for money ”

“The hotel was very nice. Our disappointment was the food. The menu didn't live up to the description. Steak had no flavour! Had to buy chips additionally even though included in price if you ordered a burger, which didn't make sense. No accompaniments of tomato and mushrooms. Just steak on a plate? Confit of duck was in fact shredded duck in a mound with cold tomatoes mixed in. Duck was dry, which is had to do in a confit, presentation was boring and very expensive for what was served. The savour was the passion fruit soufflé. That was a triumph. Morning service I ordered eggs Royal and they brought out eggs Benedict. so my wife and I ate at different times and they brought me coffee instead of tea. So overall we were not impressed especially as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary as our visit. We won't be going again.”

“We book this hotel for its convenient location - we can park the car free, and wander into town with ease. It is of a good, basic standard: no frills, and low-key staffing. For our latest visit however, we unfortunately dropped a couple of stars for 'cleanliness', as the room did not feel at all well-cleaned. We're not the type of people who immediately run a finger along the top of door frames looking for dust...but the dust was very obvious, and could be seen when watching the TV from bed. Corners of the carpet by the bedside units were also rather disgusting. I've not seen this level of neglect in all my stays in hotels, and was rather shocked. My partner did the checking out, otherwise it would have been mentioned to the reception staff. Disappointed, but would still recommend this hotel, it's a great place to stay, with decent, quiet rooms.”

“We stayed here for 10 days for family visit. The rooms were cleaned up most of the day during our stay, but we find it alright since we don’t need it to be tidy up daily. There are many people going in and out of the gym and there is a Starbucks just near the hotel entrance. ”

“Nice pub with clean comfortable rooms. However I tried to get a drink at 10.30pm only to be told it was closed already. Shame as I had purposely got there at that time clearly thinking it would still be open as it says 11pm closing. ”

“Staff were all amazing and friendly, room was large enough just not cleaned that well still biscuit under sofa and leafs on floor but good value I thought, I would stay again!”

“Great staff but the hotel is starting to look a little tired in places and could do with a refurb. If you want to walk into the centre of Basingstoke it's around 15-20 minutes if you're fit and healthy”

“Code received in inbox with clear instructions with how to access & obtain key. Room was spacious, clean & had all required accessories you would expect. Bathroom had a really good shower. Bed is a comfy memory foam mattress with crisp sheets. Quiet, no fuss & great for a night or two.”
