“This hotel was very expensive. I think we could have got much better value elsewhere. Location and seaview are great. There was a guy in front of me at check-in who just walked in and asked for a room. They offered him a room that was cheaper than mine and had breakfast. I asked if I could have breakfast added as my room was more expensive and they refused. Wouldn't have killed them to give me that. The room we were given was ok but was actually in the hotel next door. Last year I stayed at the Richmond next door to the Marine which is a much better hotel. Unfortunately, they we very fully booked months ago. I wouldn't stay here again to be honest. ”

“Given the very high prices for a room in Aberystwyth (£150 for the standard double at the local Premier Inn, a 2 star chain hotel) I would definitely say that the value for money here is great. Simple, but cozy and CLEAN room. Good shower room. The breakfast is the typical English one, with basically no other option, apart from veggie sausages. All in all, I'd recommend. ”

“The staff are amazing, the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and location is great but it is very dated. The lift was not working & the stairs are narrow & steep. All the furniture looks second hand & floorboards were soft in places. The breakfast is very basic as far as quality. There is a full breakfast option but the eggs are over cooked. The staff are very helpful. I felt for the price we expected better.”

“The location is v good opposite the beach with great views of coastline in both directions. Friendly helpful staff, v easy check in and clean room and linen. Kettle and tea and coffee facilities in room, White fluffy towels. Perfect for overnight stay for business and good value compared to some other places nearby. Simple yet clean and safe. ”

“2 night stay, great location, staff helpful,tea and coffee tray well stocked, also hot chocolate. Nice clean white bedding and towels, smart modern en suite complimentary shower gels, good for me as id forgotten mine. Seafront view spolit by glass panels blown and misty. Very large kitchen area on the ground floor looked clean and well equipped, had the use of a fridge. Wonky bedside lamp, had to prop up on headband for it to stand up. Walls between rooms very thin, could hear the neighbours have a good olde conversation, we were in room cardigan 3 first floor. The matteress were shocking, creaky when sat on, and when moving, lumpy could feel the springs, slept on top of the duvet could still feel them. Seriously need replacing. The communal areas were shabby, threadbare carpets in places, stair carpets badly stained all flooring needs replacing.Small cafe on the ground floor we didnt use it but it did have some passing trade and menu looked good. I dropped something on the floor, thought it had rolled under the bed, when down to have a look there was an empty crisp packet under the bed,not ours so can only assume it was from a previous guest. Probably won't stay there again, unless there were some improvements.”
