“Hotel Scala is a very nice retreat. I was there near the end of my Camino. The pool was a very pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting to have a nice pool to relax in so close to the end of my Camino. Hotel Scala is directly on the path for those walking the Camino from Padron to Santiago de Compostula. My room was ample and clean. The a/c unit worked well and I had a nice TV. The hotel is lovely and the bar area is vast. I had arrived early so my room wasn't ready. I waited a short while in the bar with a cold beer amd a wonderful bowl of fresh fruit. The only downside I can speak of is the staff. The ladies at the check in desk were very impersonal and short with their retorts. It may be because they were very busy as they had a large group trying to check in and they were overwhelmed. The bar staff is terribly understaffed. With the outside patio service and the vast bar area it is almost impossible to receive reasonable service . I waited at length for a menu, to place an order and to pay my bill. The best bet is to sit at the bar. The bar is terribly understaffed. Other than that I fully enjoyed Hotel Scala”
