“we had a strange stay in Briars.... this is really a great property, on a lake, with access to facilities. The main block is in OK shape, but the cottages (which for us was key as a large group) are highly underinvested in. The new owner, (I believe Rong Lu) needs to put more money behind these quickly to take advantage of the asset; or frankly not put the cottages on the market until they have been done up. ”

“Positives: - staff very friendly - were very accommodating in allowing me to come into the room an hour early. - bed was comfortable and clean - appliances worked - Little extras in the room for the gas such as bottled water, small bottle of shampoo and conditioner, hand soap, and plenty of clean towels. Negatives: - hotel furniture (not bed though), walls, windows, baseboards, doors and handles, toilet was very dirty. We only needed this place for a night and it was booked last minute with no option of a refund so we stayed. Again, the bed was great and looked fairly clean. The rest of the room was absolutely disgusting. This little motel would do much better if they took more pride in their cleaning. ”
