It seemed as if the place had gone under a lot of upgrades and the failities were excellent. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home and helped us prepare each day ahead of the Cape Epic race. Top hotel in Stellenbosch and well worth the money ”

“Batavia Boutique Hotel is in a great location in Stellenbosch. Our room was clean and tidy, and the staff were helpful. However, breakfast really let this hotel down. There weren't enough tables for guests or staff to serve. The continental items weren't topped up and there was only one toaster causing delays. For the hot food, there was no menu so the staff member had to tell every table what was on the menu rather than people having decided in advance. The coffee wasn't good.”

“We booked the superior double room, expecting a room overlooking the garden. Instead, it the room we got (#5) was facing the back, with a small patio. Also, it was right next to the main door/car park, and with thin walls/doors the conversation of other guests as well as the outdoor lights that was on all night disturbed our sleep and quiet time. But most disappointing was the bed. It was short! It was exactly 180cm, my boyfriend's height. He didn't get a good night sleep, to say the least. For this much money we'd have expected a normal sized-bed and more peaceful sleep. ”
