“Location is gr8, literally adjacent to the waterfront. Breakfast quality is very good, filter coffee was outstanding. Staff extremely polite and helpful.”

“We've checked in at roundabout 6pm. At 8pm I wanted to shower. The water was cold. There was no one at the BB. I phoned the responsible person he told me did switch the geyser on. I couldn't shower. The next morning he woke up at 6am to tell us we could shower in another room. The problem could've been solved if he was on the premises and fix it the night before. ”

“Le lieu est très beau: réveil avec vue sur la lagune depuis la jolie terrasse en bois. Chambre très spacieuse et confortable. Pas de petit déjeuner ou repas possible,mais un espace commun avec frigo, cuisine et tous ce qu'il faut pour se préparer à manger. Très bonne adresse pour faire une étape sur la Garden Route et visiter les alentours, notamment Knysna. ”

“The location is perfect if you want to be directly at Knysna Waterfront. But the hotel was a real let down. It just isn't being maintained properly - the pool wasn't very clean, the pool shower didn't work (missing both a tap and a shower head), the lifts are all out of order and according to other online reviews this has been the case now since at least December (and was clearly a horrible problem for many of the older guests). In our room the fridge was missing a leg, badly needed defrosting, and was almost impossible to open because it was so close to the bed. We weren't given any drinking water during our stay, and the water from the taps is actually BROWN. I'm sure the water view rooms are better, we booked city view which is actually car park view -our fault. The breakfast was good and all the staff were lovely, but management are my l letting the place down badly. The months with lifts out of order?! Shame on you”

“My wife and I stayed for 3 nights as it was our anniversary. Staff were very welcoming, courteous and very helpful. Facilities were 'OK' which means I think there should be more things on offer at the hotel or better communication of what can be seen, done around Knysna. YES - we can all google, yes we can go to a tourist info kiosk but I think a hotel of this stature and price could do more. I also think the Hotel lacks atmosphere. People arrive, get a welcome, lovely staff and great breakfast and lovely boat trip - nothing else. I would and have suggested a 'happy hour' in the Bar Area where everyone has a personal invitation to join between 6pm-7.30pm. Cocktails and/or general drinks offered together with savoury snacks. Not everyone will come but generally people do come and this will create a great social atmosphere. There is one caveat - the staff need to be trained on how to serve cocktails as the Aperol Spritzer we had was terrible. I've visited many hotels worldwide and I have found those that offer this service get great recommendations. Something to think about for management. ”
