“The location was very nice, the rooms and furniture fair. The punitive fees added to guests with third party bookings an actual bait and switch. What was a good rate booked through the site was invalidated at check in when a $40 mandatory fee for damage insurance up to $900. There was not $900 worth of property in the room to inflict damage to. The two guests checking in at the same time were not told of this charge and were given breakfast coupons. We were assessed the “mandatory” $40 fee which absolutely felt discretionary to guests that booked lower rates through third party sites. The review will not accept my photos of the paperwork but this is the language: $39.95 Waiver Fee (+tax). All reservations automatically include this fee. It is a non-refundable charge that covers up to $1,000 in reported instances of accidental or non-negligent damages. In addition, guests are not required to put down a security deposit at time of arrival. In addition to the damage insurance third party bookings are also charged a resort fee of 17.50 per night, a city marketing fee of &1 per night and a check out housekeeping fee of &19.95. As there are not competing properties in the area this place has a stranglehold on travelers. Book direct and save the bait and switch. The third party sites should remove this property because they share in this bait and switch for not disclosing the property’s practices. ”
