“Gilgamesh is the best value for money in this otherwise expensive town. The owner and his family are welcoming and friendly. Stunning views from the terrace! Rooms feel authentic and cozy.”

“Very stylish boutique hotel, clean and comfortable. The staff was very responsive in replying messages. I very much enjoyed their breakfast and their coffee machine. The downside is access. It is no where near a road, so it is inaccessible by car. I parked 15 minutes walk from the hotel. Need to climb a lot of stairs and even by walking it is not easy to find. But it is located in the old city, so the walk back and worth is part of my visit to Mardin”

“Excellent place, very clean, nice breakfast, nice staff, good location in the old city, the only problem is that it is kind of the last building coming from the old city, which means you have to walk a long way with many staircases (the whole city is full of them), if you have a heavy luggage it's not very comfortable. Unless you contact the staff beforehand and ask them for the shortest way to get to the hotel, which wasn't what I did. If you're young and healthy though, and your luggage is not very heavy, it's really a nice place.”

“Great location just A few blocks from the main part of the old city. Easy walk to restaurants. Very quiet location. Beautiful rooms like an old Palace. Great breakfast buffet.”

“We had a rental car but we regretted because there is no place to park. Our room was not cleaned while we were out. When we asked, it was because we did not leave our room key. The breakfast was disappointing to us because it was mostly sweet syrups/sauces, white bread all which are known to be unhealthy to us.”

“The best stay I have ever had travelling to Turkey, the hotel rooms, terrace views of Mesopotamia, architecture and location is just amazing. The owner Omar and staff members are great and some of the nicest people I have ever come across. Will definitely be coming back very soon. ”
