“We really enjoyed our stay at Casa de Santo in the Douro. The hotel has excellent aesthetics, with beautiful interiors and a lot of attention to detail. The rooms are very comfortable, and the views are absolutely stunning. The staff were exceptional — warm, friendly and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. The only area that could be improved is the breakfast, which was quite basic and minimal. That said, everything else more than made up for it. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and definitely a place I would love to return to. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a beautiful and peaceful stay in the Douro.”

“Hotel is in a nice spot and we received a really warm welcome when we arrived. The only down point for us was the food, which was poor at best. (I'm sure that they tried very hard, but it wasn't great at all). The staff were great and we felt like guests in a family home!”

“Hotel stay was good but not so good as far as restaurant menu options were concerned. The restaurant only really offered their tasting menu that is not up to par with the hotel facilities, and apart from the tasting menu on offer, à la carte menu was not really available, as their menu only set out MEAT or FISH choices (only and as per the tasting menu!!) and at the size of the tasting menu!! Very disappointing. Veal was served as “meat loaf”, a bit of a waste.”
