“We stayed for one night as part of our sight seeing holiday in Portugal. The village of Obidos is charming, but filled with tourist shops and whatnot, which is because it is a major tourist attraction. This accommodation is conveniently close to all of that - just a short few steps in fact, but once you close the door you will not hear any of the noise of the busyness that is going on outside. The front entrance to the casa lets it down and as it does not have an inviting appearance. We had a check-in late on Sunday afternoon and it was difficult getting to contact someone to check us in. The WhatsApp number provided was not working as the phone was on charge. A few phone calls later the lady came and opened the front door. Once inside the casa you will find that it is filled to the brim with olde worlde knick-knacks and has a certain charm that is really fitting to Obidos. The room was simple, clean and comfortable and a great deal at the price. The breakfast too was simple. Free all-day coffee and water a win. We made the mistake of dragging our suitcases from the bus-stop which is at the bottom of Obidos up the steep cobblestone lanes, which was a dreadful chore in the heat of July. Having now seen the terrain I recommend not following Google and rather to go up the side road and around into the town entrance. That way you can roll your suitcases along the smooth tiled path provided for just such an instance all the way almost to front door of the casa. ”
