“It was OK - but not as flash as what it looks like online. When we arrived the restaurant wasnt operating fully, the only carparks left were some distance from the rooms and our room wasnt locked when we checked in. The room was quite nicely appointed but nothing particularly special”

“Rooms are very congested. When u open the door , you would cross toilet and bathroom into the bedroom. We opted this place because we were arriving late in Picton , so wanted a place near Picton ferry. Would recommend for short stay but not for longer stays. Asked for earlier breakfast but host was not flexible. No options were given, we were asked make our own arrangements. ”

“The lodge is colourful and basic, not much is to be expected. You could get close and personal with fellow travelers, there is a fair bit of road noise and your privacy goes out the window ”

“Our 1 bedroom apartment was spacious, the room was spotlessly clean & it smelt amazing as we walked inside. It is located on the main road into town,We stayed in room 3 not far back from the road & it was a nice quiet location with no roadside noise.The facilities & amenities are very good. Kitchen utensils & appliances look brand new. The owner,David, gave us a lovely welcome & told us about local places to get groceries & drinks etc .They have free wifi & even have a bowl of lollies in the room. Nice thick towels & toiletries are provided.It is a very comfy bed, the rooms have good lighting throughout & there is even an outside light.I am sure the ladies will appreciate when I say that there is even nice thick quality toilet paper <LOL> The 2 small things I would say are missing is an electric blanket & made up ice cubes in the freezer (an ice cube tray is in the kitchen cupboard but no ice cubes made up) but everything else is absolutely perfect. We would very highly recommend this place to anyone who wishes to stay in Blenheim.It was frustrating when we arrived to be told that we DID have an Agoda reservation BUT that Agoda did NOT pay the motel even though OUR bank account had bene debited SO we had to pay again & the next day spend a fair bit of our valuable holiday time sorting out for Agoda to give us our money back so it was rather stressful. We certainly hope any future bookings with Agoda do not get messed up.”

“My wife+i stayed 3 days here. We enjoyed very much and had a safe and happy stay. Our host (Simon) was most helpful, friendly and responsive to our every need or query. Our room was very clean. We were impressed by the cleanlinesss of the beds, sheets, duvet, pillows, towels. The kitchenette facilities were great. Excellent kettle, ovenette, fridge, washing liquid, paper towels, cooking facilities. The toilet and bathroom facilities were also great. We used the laundry as well. It was simple and hassle free. And we enjoyed the safety and allocated parking lot for our room. Excellent overall and highly recommended. johnlee”

Pros: - Convenient location across from the grocery shop - Free parking - Cooktop and utensils, kettle - There is a cat on-site Cons: - It was difficult to reach the front desk staff / owner to check in; we needed to call the hotel number directly for service. - Need to parallel park for some room numbers, which can be tight if there are cars in the adjoining parking spaces”
