“Beautiful views of Picton harbour. My large room was very comfortable and so so clean. Thoroughly recommended.”

“It was OK - but not as flash as what it looks like online. When we arrived the restaurant wasnt operating fully, the only carparks left were some distance from the rooms and our room wasnt locked when we checked in. The room was quite nicely appointed but nothing particularly special”

“What I liked: The hotel has a beautiful balcony view. The room was clean. The shower had great water pressure. What I didn’t like: The bed was not as comfortable as I am used to and the room had a moldy smell might be the carpets are older. It served our needs of a night stay after getting off the ferry. I don’t think I would have like to stay longer.”

“Rooms are very congested. When u open the door , you would cross toilet and bathroom into the bedroom. We opted this place because we were arriving late in Picton , so wanted a place near Picton ferry. Would recommend for short stay but not for longer stays. Asked for earlier breakfast but host was not flexible. No options were given, we were asked make our own arrangements. ”

“The lodge is colourful and basic, not much is to be expected. You could get close and personal with fellow travelers, there is a fair bit of road noise and your privacy goes out the window ”

“The Gateway is a perfect place to stay if you want a central location in the main street of Picton. Car parking must be included in your accommodation. also, select a down stair accommodation. Otherwise, this accommodation is perfeectly located to early morning coffees and breakfast, etc. We would stay here again. ”

The lodge is conveniently located near the Picton Interislander Ferry Terminal, making it an excellent choice for an overnight or short stay before continuing to the next destination. It is also surrounded by beautiful scenery, adding to the overall experience. There is ample on-site parking, and the property is directly opposite a popular local supermarket, making it very convenient to pick up groceries or travel essentials. Overall, this lodge offers great value, a convenient location, and a comfortable stay. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a short stay in Picton.”
