There’s lots of nature around the property and even a short hike to a stream with little waterfall. With all the different birds we saw while staying at the Hideout, we downloaded the Bird Nerd app to learn more about each species. Mangawhai’s beaches, hikes, surf spots and town center are not a far drive which adds to the convenience of the Hideout’s location but also removes you away from everything! The nights were so quiet that we can’t recall ever experiencing such a peaceful silence. Four thumbs up on the Hideout.
