“I checked out of the hotel today and spent a night there. I book my acommodation on agoda and got a last minute deal, travelling with my younger son. Upon check-in, the staff made me realize the error of booking for 1 instead of 1 adult plus child. They made me pay an extra $20USD for my son's breakfast. It did not sit well so I checked online and pointed out to staff the the buffet breakfast was suppose to be 3,000 LKR instead of the 6,000 or 20USD that he charged. First the staff insisted I was wrong, asking my driver to use this currency conversion app stating that 3,000 was indeed 20USD. When proven wrong, he insisted that the child's breakfast was 20USD. It is clearly not advertised that way on line. No one likes to be taken for a fool and I clearly felt that put off by the lack of honesty on the part of the front of house staff. I was told they would follow up with the manager which they did not. Regardless if a guess books the reservation online, through a hospitality app or gets a last minute deal, hotels should honor what was clearly stated and not try and make a quick buck from guest and their lie about the rates. ”

“The hotel was lovely and comfortable. It's on top of a hill so don't expect to walk to it easily from the city center. But it does have a beautiful view. The breakfast was also very nice. The staff was great too and clearly wanted to be accommodating. The only thing I would say it that there was a lot of pressure to write a review which turned me off a little. But otherwise, a great stay!”
