“I was looking for a quiet and remote yet clean and pristine onsen and this is exactly what I found, absolutely perfect. The staff was extremely kind and helpful and made every effort to communicate. However due to the off season not all facilities were available (the cafe and pool was closed) and as a solo traveler is was complicated to book and I ended up having to pay for 2 people including dinner which was slightly more expensive than I would have wished for.”

“Location, location, location. By the light house, near the water, fishing harbor, local train, little shops. Excellent biking hotel (only one creaky elecyric rental, but other nearby hotels likely have more. Beautiful tatami room. Super clean. Caring staff in dining areas, just OK in desk area. Elaborate meals, served with great care. Good, not excellent. Terrific hot spring pools (sauna etc) , ovelooking the water. Faded glory hotel. One of several hotels that were in boom times decades ago. Very worn. Huge infrastructure for small number of guests. Hotel needs to fix roof, replace carpets etc. Hotel should shut off sections and remake itself into a smaller place. Easy to say. Tough times in this area. The basic elements remain: lighthouse, train, sea, hot springs, etc. Beautiful spot. I would come back.”
