“The lakeside hotel and leisure centre did not live up to our expectations. Despite a great location, there is nothing else going for this hotel. It is very outdated, with musty rooms. To the extreme that we had to change rooms as there was a smell of damp in our original room, which wasn't even the room we booked online. We had picked a double lakeview room, but were put in a family room with a view of the carpark. The second room was slightly better, if not a bit noisy. We could hear the showers and extractors fans in all of the rooms around us. What made it worse, was when we went to use the shower, there was no water pressure and had to abandon it. This was after requesting spare towels from reception, which also never arrived. Final grievance was that I was charged €40 more by Agoda compared to what the room actually cost as shown in my receipt from the Lakeside. ”

“Amazing staff who were so friendly and very helpful in every way. Had dinner in the bar and a couple of drinks, while listening to some trad music, rounding off a lovely evening in CHH. Breakfast the next morning was served piping hot and again, nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend staying here ”

“Great little stop over hotel on my route to Cork. Very pleasant and comfortable stay with a great breakfast. Will definitely stay again if doing the same route. ”

“Breakfast is poor, food warm not hot. Fried eggs presented at counter were not cooked properly as they appeared under cooked so I asked for two flipped fried eggs whenbthe bew eggs arrived they were inedible even the girl serving the food came back and asked were they ok I asked for scrambled eggs in stead whick came ot inedible as well so for breakfast I had cereal and toast. When leaving the breakfast area a manager asked was everything ok I told her the issues I encountered she said tgat wea unacceptable and asked our room number. When checking out reception didn’t even ask if everything was ok ( we had paid in advance so there was no bill on checking out) we were disappointed it appeared that tge manager hadn’t passed on our issue”
