“Spacious well appointed rooms that are tastefully decorated. Ironing board and iron to ensure you can look your best after unpacking your bags. Super friendly staff who are very cheerful and helpful. Superb breakfast. Bar and restaurant too, serving homely food. Plenty of parking and a relatively short walk into town. It's been my go to hotel for years when staying in West Cumbria.”

“Breakfast cold, Basic ingredients missing from dinner menu choices. Orders not completed, chef disinterested. Long wait in queue at the bar for every order.”

“I’m a little disappointed, ( but my fault) I booked thinking I had a really nice room, (room was ok) but I travelled an extra 40 miles thinking I had a room that had a 4 poster bed, I got a room in an annex… lived n learn.. Lovely old building , nice staff, but quite disappointed in the quality of the breakfast, sausages were pink in the middle, and tasted like they were on the turn, gave them to there dog, that was at my feet during my breakfast, he ate the lot.. including the black pudding that was only half cooked.. I don’t think I would stay here again, not worth the extra journey.. but I’m sure the other rooms might have been beautiful…”

“Although I only stayed one night, the stay was very pleasant. From the friendly welcome on arrival to the lovely breakfast, all was perfect. The rooms are beautifully appointed with the space cleverly used. And a very comfortable bed and room. The cleanliness standards are second to none. My only quibble is that I don't like having to listen to the news when having breakfast, but this is a personal preference. I'd prefer some gentle background music. Very helpful too when I left something behind and when there was a small query about the shower. I'd definitely recommend for either business or leisure travellers.”

“Very easy to find with convenient parking nearby. Friendly, welcoming staff. Extremely comfortable bed & pillows. Well laid out room with added advantage of in room fridge. Great water pressure for the shower. Only down point was no mirror in room itself just the one in the bathroom. Would definitely stay again. ”
