“We arrived at the George at 12pm, our room wasn’t ready so we agreed to come back later. We were told the pub would be shut and we would find our key in the door. It was rather strange that a pub was closing at 5pm. The family room was clean, however there was a very strange smell in the room and the bathroom. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and it was very peaceful. W head a lovely night sleep. We would return if we were in Lydney again. ”

“Picking somewhere to stay (at reasonable cost) from online website reviews is always a bit of a gamble. But Fountain Inn was definitely one of my better choices. Good sized room and bathroom. Very helpful staff. Large car park. Good food - both breakfast and evening meals. And a great location for the Forest of Dean amenities.”
