“Very nice pleasant stay but a few things need touch up furniture etc. There were no Sweetners for tea and coffee in my room. Need instructions in rooms on how to get tv to work.”

“I stayed one night at The Eagle House Hotel. It is beside the gatehouse to Launceston Castle high up on Castle Hill. The views from the bar and restaurant down to the river valley are beautiful. The shops and cafes are close by are just across Castle Green, which serves as the village green. The spectacular thousand year old castle is to your left as you walk through. The hotel is grade II star listed with most original features intact. The staircase is particularly spectacular with ornate 18th century plasterwork in the walls and ceiling. The bar with its terraces is well used by locals and visitors and the staff are hardworking, friendly and helpful. The food served is to a high standard. Gin is made on site and I particularly enjoyed that with winter botanicals and spices. Nicola M”
