“The hotel is located in a rural location with lovely large grounds. It is an old building with no lifts, our room was a fair distance from reception with a lot of steps! Room was fine, not big but adequate, the ensuite bathroom was good but beware the hot water is very, very hot! The breakfast was fine although not the best we have had eg the bacon was very, very fatty. Staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful.”

“Beautiful accommodation, everything you need, slightly disappointed with the upstairs flat in that the lounge sofa bed is more practical than comfortable, however the bed and linen were exceptionally comfortable.”

“Meldrum House is a beautiful hotel, impressive grounds and adjacent golf course. Our room in the stables area, room 413, was lovely, huge bed, tasteful decor and large impressive bathroom. We left a breakfast order notice on our door handle which wasn’t collected, although reception dealt with this professionally and although we had extended our stay to a late check out we had staff knocking on our door to see why we were still in our room at 11.10 am, normal check out time is 11am. Would return for a touch of luxury! ”

“Everytime we visit Thainstone we have a lovely stay. The food and service is brilliant and we particularly enjoy the outdoor hot tub and sauna. Would recommend to anyone for a relaxing night away. ”

“Avoid Room 1 - very noisey till 1am from bar below and fills with smoke from patrons standing outside smoking. In the morning, we waited 35 minutes for our bowls of porridge! ”
