“Recently stayed at the Dundas Arms as a little relaxing treat before our return to Australia, after seven weeks tripping around the UK. It was perfect as a relaxing interlude. The room was large and comfortable, and the pub and restaurant most welcoming. We stayed on a Sunday and Monday night and basically had the Inn to ourselves. It is easy to get to, being a two minute walk across the road from the train station. The room had its own patio which backed onto the canal - had the weather been better this would have been an amazing place to sit and watch the world go by. As it was, the weather was not great so we spent our time relaxing in the room (which was easy with such a great space), or sitting in the bar in front of the open fire … which was so comfortable and enjoyable. The staff were super friendly (particular mention should go to Roz who was a breath of fresh air in the mornings … so cheerful). We had a long flight ahead of us on the day of check out and were allowed to have a late check out which was wonderful! And very much appreciated. Breakfast was fantastic and plentiful both mornings … as we were the only guests there wasn’t a buffet, but Roz and the chef provided everything we desired. It set us up perfectly for a day wandering around the sweet little village, and taking a long stroll by the canal which is right next to the hotel. We ate at the restaurant twice and both meals were amazing. Had the Sunday roast and it was huge! And delicious. On the Monday, we had the mushroom and Tarragon soup with crusty bread …. And I cannot stop raving about it! So much flavour! And then we had dessert - apple and berry crumble with custard and ice cream. OMG … such a huge portion … and again , delicious! I would highly recommend this place, as a restaurant, a pub and an inn! Everything was amazing!”

“We stayed for two nights and brought along our dog. Staff were very helpful, the room was a good size, comfortable and well equipped. The only thing missing was free parking, but we were able to park very nearby for a subsidised cost, so all in all it was a lovely stay and great value for money. ”

“Fabulous value for money with all the charm of an old country inn with a river garden at the back. Mine was room 7 which was clean, large and had all I needed. Some nice real ale in the bar too. Would definitely recommend.”
