“This is our second visit to The Hill B&B and I'm sure we'll be back. The property is in a great location, only a few minutes walk from 2 pubs/restaurants and 5 minutes from the Penine Way. The room was immaculate, the bed comfy and Sue does a great breakfast! It's a beautiful area with lots of walks for all abilities right on the doorstep. We had a lovely weekend.”

“If you want modernist glass n chrome then the Forresters is not for you. However, if you want a genuine real example of what we are losing in the UK then look no further. The hotel is run by a couple, he is French and his wife is an English French trained chef. Combining the values of a traditional village pub (pool and darts) good ales, clean rooms with an excellent use of space my wife and I will return. Merci”

“Hotel is in great location with free on street parking just outside. We stayed in room 13 which is ‘off-site’ across the street. It is quiet, immaculate and freshly refurbished although a little small (the door opens onto the foot of the bed). Staff are wonderfully helpful and friendly. Breakfast is tasty and although we didn’t dine there in the evening, the food looked amazing.”

“Great location for a stop off on the A66 on way to Scotland. Nice large room with great bathroom and shower. We ate in the bar which although the menu was small in number of choices, was very good. Breakfast in the morning was great with a good selection and nice to be served rather than buffet. All and all a great stay.”
