“We had some difficulties checking in but fortunately the Dutch couple in Unit C were able to help us, and eventually we got in communication with the property manager who came by and helped explain. If you are booking on Agoda as we did, be aware that for Maison Therese staff, they do not even know what Agoda is. The booking came to them via ***. So when they sent us info on how to check in, the code, etc., it went to us on *** (which we've never even used), and NOT Agoda! Their message to us basically went to the ether. Once we were in our place, though, it was divine. So nice to do laundry after a week in Barcelona. King bed, nice shower, and heated towel rack/clothes dryer. Very quiet and private, and a walk uphill behind the apartment to Carcassonne. The hot tub was SO nice to use; we sure needed that. The only thing that would have helped were instructions on how to move the hot tub cover off in English. We couldn't get it open all the way so sat in half of it, which still worked for our sore bodies. ”

“We stayed here 2 nights. It is in a great location- within the walls of Carcassonne. Within walking distance of restaurants, shopping and the ramparts. It had an ok breakfast and the room was clean even. The room they put us in was in a building next to the hotel and it had a strange beam in it that went diagonally along the floor. Definitely wouldn’t recommend getting up at night without a light on. But my real complaint is about the pool. I was told “Hôtel Le Donjon - Cœur de la Cité Médiévale (Carcassonne): This hotel in the historic fortress does not have its own pool on-site, but guests can easily access the outdoor pool at their sister property located nearby.” And when we arrived we were told that we could NOT use their pool. Which was the main reason I choose this property over others. I was very disappointed. Oh and the city taxes were about $50 euros-on top of what you pay. So keep that in mind. ”
